This was the Comcast/Competive Edge College football combine yesterday where college scouts from the Pacific Northwest come out and look at Freshmen and Juniors for potential football scholarships. There were a few seniors but most of them are usually offered a scholarship shortly after Feb. 6th. The ones that make the grade in this flock of 450 kids will be offered scholarships next Feb. 6th, 2008 (granted they stay healthy and are Seniors in highschool next year.) This is just one of many College Scout programs. There are others, like Scouts.com and Nike's program. Kids from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington were the predominate athletes.
Comast will have a 1 hour program offered next week showing this combine (1 hour long, pay-per-view) The kids at the bottom picture set the record for the day by long jumping (from a standing position) 9 feet 10 inches!!! More pics here: http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...mp;uid=2726312 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Camer settings: D70s 80-200mm AF-D f/2.8 lens(set to "Limited" zoom) Iso 200 Aperature f/2.8 Speed 1/500 (for long Jump pics) and 1/1500 for all others WB custom pre-set using a white jersy on the field. Long Jump pics manually focused, all others were autofocus. Oh, and I bought a new D200, just waiting for it to ship! Yaa! ![]() |

Really like #3. 1&2 could be good, but they don't have the punch #3 does - not as sharp.
Good job and thanks for sharing!! |

I like #3 as well but see he is wearing Soccer studs instead of the Football variety.

They're not supposed to wear football cleats on "Turfy Grass" fields. It will ruin the field. Some kids broke the rules...but they let them compete anyway.
The only reason I know this is because I have two sons that play football on that field. ![]() |
