This is cropped - substantially, I might add.

Well, you are on the right track! It's a good start!
Now... Please resize your pics so we can see them with out have to scroll quite so much... ![]() I have found the floor to be the hardest event to get good action shots. Gymnasts are using moving their fastest... and the light usually is bad so it's hard to get a descent shutter speed. Color looks good... Like I said... you've got a good start here... |

Thanks - I hope that I've fixed that (resizing is the part that I was struggling with). I had just changed the quality to ~200 k - I had not experimented with resizing the image. By the way, your gymnastics photos are awesome - are you down on the floor with these gals? Mine were taken from about 8 rows up - and row 1 is not that close to the action. I used a Canon 85/1.8 - the original looks fairly good, but the gymnast doesnt take up much of the total photo. At this point, my only other lenses are a Tamron 28-75/2.8 and the 17-55 kit lens.

Thanks for the compliment! Usually I can get fairly close but there are occasions... like yesterday where the bars are like 150 feet away and no way to get closer! Which is why I bought the Sigma 120-300 f2.8. Haven't down loaded those pics yet...
I highly recommend the Sigma 70-200 f.28 EX HSM... so start saving those pennies! LOL! |
