Hello All, i'm not sure if this classes as a sport or not:?, I'm sure it'll get moved if not:-). I went to cover this event today & thought i'd share a few pics with you!.

The event has run all weekend & the discipline involvedfor the control of thedogs was astonishing.

For the uninitiated the idea is todrive a small flock of sheep round an obstacle course in alarge field (ie through gates etc) using the sheepdog & a shepherds whistle command, finally herding them into a 6 foot pen. points are deducted for break away sheep & missed obstacles etc. Kind regards Graham.

A close eye is kept on the flock

The sheep are checked as they try to break away

A couple of dogs in full flight!!

The one that nearly got away

A foot (paw)race up the hill

Finally driven home

Sorry couldn't resist the AWWW! factor in this budding sheepdog:lol:

Good shots but (and of course there is a but) personally I would like to see more depth of field in some of the shots. #1,6 &7 would be better if the sheep were sharper. #1 especially would be a great shot if both the dog and the sheep were sharp. And your right there is an awww factor in the last one.

Hi K1par, thanks for the input, I did do some shots with more DOF but: 1,I was trying to put emphasis on the dogs & 2 these little b***ers moved so quick the slower shutter speed/ blurruined most of the shots. :-).

Hi Gary, The weather may look nice but there was one hell of a wind up there (65+ recorded by the organisation staff!! Took me 3 attempts to get out of the car LOL:shock:. These dogs are amazing, totally focused when told to work but just like a pet at home after, Ellie was stroking & playing with them out of the Arena!. Kind regards Graham.
