Hello all, here's a few shots from a sheepdog trial I went to cover!, I guess it's classed as sport though a little left field!!.For more pics feel free to view my flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluesmangraham/. Kind regards Graham.

Not sure if I calls it as sport but it certainly is action. I think this is probably a first here at Steve's so always good to see something new.
For me number 2 is the best by far, just a shame that you were not a little closer in.... think you should get a 600mm f4 next, sure that would go down well ![]() These are good, but I think you have some better shots on your site, I like the shots of the farmers interacting with the dogs and sheep. As a temporary fix I would go with a 1.4x TC as you will get 420mm at f4, this is what I was using for my golf shots and have used it for football, rugby, hockey etc.

# 2 is excellent...really grabbed my attention.
You got the picture at the sheep's eye level...gave me the feeling what it must be like to be a sheep, being rounded up, by an energetic Border Collie. That Collie is coming in like an Exocet missile. I like the distance in that shot (# 2)...it emphasizes the feel of the rapid close in... of the dog doing an interception. Really top notch photo...you would had to do a lay down in the grass to get that shot ? What equipment, ISO...settings did you use ? Les Last edited by lesmore49; Jun 23, 2009 at 12:04 AM. |

Hi Les,
There is a great little application called iExif from oPanda which allows you to see the exif data in photos. Here are the details from one of the shots. Model = NIKON D2H Exposure Time = 1/2000" F Number = F2.8 Exposure Program = Aperture priority ISO Speed Ratings = 250 Focal Length = 300mm Hope that helps. |
