Here are some shots from a football game Friday. I didn't get a chance to shoot much, but managed a few.. Shot with Canon Rebel XT, 70-200 f/2.8 Av f/2.8 ISO 400, shutter speeds between 1/640 & 1/2000. Next on the list of toys is a 1.4x or 2.0x teleconverter - any suggestions there? C&C welcome (and encouraged)...

Here are some thouhts:

shot 1: nice shot but you lost the feet of both players and half of the defender. Additionally the face of the runner is underexposed. Dodge tool will fix that.

shot 2: tough call. The only interesting thing here is 21 and his facial expression. The other two defenders are really irrelevant here. And it's a bit late in the play - i.e. past peak action. So, maybe a tighter crop highlighting the facial expression would work better here.

shot 3: face is underexposed. Again, try dodge tool. Also, the player to the left of the frame is distracting - you've only got a small part of him in the frame, and he's looking down. So he doesn't add much of interest. I'd try cropping him out and leave the QB and the other running back in the frame. That will also draw more attention to the expression on the QB which is what is of interest here.

shot 4: nice action. #17 is distracting. Maybe play with a tighter crop with isolation on torso of ball handler and #55

shot 5: real nice timing. The woman walking is a big distraction but you need a longer lens (and less cropping) to deal with that. It's a good shot but kept from being a great shot because you don't have faces and the distracting background. Nice capture!
