these shots are not that bad, considering the conditions you were in.. I know what you mean i've had to shoot in these conditions before to...

Ron,

I agree these shots aren't that bad given the conditions. One question for you- how are you mounting your flash? Is it right on the shoe or on a bracket? If it's on the shoe you should consider getting a bracket or mounting it on your monopod to get it further away.

Again, nice work in some really bad conditions.

John,

I am using an SB800 mounted directly to the shoe.

I currently do not own a bracket but plan to purchase one.

I also shoot handheld at the time. Planning on using monopod when I get the better lens. (don't ask why I don'talready because I can't give you a good answer..LOL)

Ron,

When you're ready - I suggest taking a look at the Custom Brackets CB Junior flash bracket. I've used it for the last year and have been very happy with it. It's good and sturdy without being cumbersome and a decent price.
