Hi folks,

Man, it's been awhile since I've posted or just been around Steve's period.

Been shooting Boys/Girls Basketball, Ice Hockey & Wrestling.

New camera - Nikon D200
New Lenses - Nikon 85mm f/1.8; Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR

Standing in the penalty box shooting over the glass
Aperature Priority
ISO 1600
Auto WB
Shutter Speed 1/250

Hi Nick,

Welcome back, good to see you still shooting and posting again!!

I would say that you have under exposed the hockey shot as the faces are dark and there is no detail in the black kit (however you couldn't have had any two harder colours to shoot in this game). You had a bit of ISO available so would boost that a bit more to get the exposure nailed!! I would also suggest shooting manual otherwise the camera is going to try to expose for the kit and the ice which will confuse the issue.

The basket ball shot looks great, good exposure and good timing so nice work!!

Nick -

welcome back. Really like the basketball shot - nice job there.

Timing is great on the hockey shot, but as Mark said it's underexposed by quite a bit so you can't make out detail.

Keep shooting and looking forward to seeing more from you!
