Some nice captures. I really like numbers 2 & 4.

Good series. The focus is a bit soft but that could be due to the apperture settings. What equipment and settings did you shoot these at?

I agree - nice set of pictures but focus is soft - especially in the first couple. But part of the problem is shutter speeds - I see you were using ISO 100 and had speeds (at least on one shot I looked) of 1/250. You have some motion blur but likely also some camera shake. Man, bump that ISO up to 400. Faster shutters will help get you sharper results.
But, you've captured some great action and your shots are nice and tight. Once you get those shutter speeds up I think you'll see a big improvement on some already good shots. |

thank you guys! i am working on mark and johng's advice.
i thought the same thing about the focus. it was overcast and raining i was using aperture mode, and had it set to its largest setting. its a 40-150mm f3.5-4.5 and i set the focus to center, i thought that the focus wasn't that great, since it was overcast should i have bumped up the iso? even though it was outside? i know i should know that answer! that was something i overlooked until the last few shots of the day! |
