Nope.. that's the DRebel with the 50mm f1.8... The other reason for going to a DSLR... better lens (faster)

yes, the f1.8 refers to the maximum aperture of the lens... The lower the number the more light it lets in which in turns means faster shutter speeds! woohoo! Also the smaller the number the shallower the DOF... this is just a very very basic explaination...
