Took these when I first purchased my Canon 350D and I was using a Canon 70-200 f/4L lens. I still have alot to learn but it's a start.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this one is of me on the track and my friend who is teaching me how to use my camera took the photo. ![]() I have more (I took over 300 that day) but this will do. Thanks for looking, Duane |

Hi Duane,
I think you've done a great job (especially as you indicate it was when you first purchased your Canon 350D). I have the same camera. Love the motion conveyed and the bit of action "blur" by panning along with slow enough shutter speed in photos 1 and 5. Also you have captured the jumps well! Actually, to be honest I think your photo is better than the one your friend took of you! The only "advice" (though I'm also a sports shooter beginning) I could give is maybe have a bit more room in front of the riders, so that the photos show where they are riding TO... rather than have them in the middle, or in some cases you have slightly more BEHIND the rider than in front. Thanks for sharing! Paul |

Thanks for the advice Paul.
I actually have alot of photo's from the back but felt thereisn't anyinterest seeing the riders' backside. :G For example... ![]() And I sure hope my friend doesn't read this topic but in his defense I wasn't doing much when I was riding so he snapped a couple of pics and called it good. Thank you for your comment and advice. ![]() Duane |

I agree, not too interesting to see the backside...
However what I meant (and what usually presents the best photo) is one seeing the riders (or "sports") person's FRONT side (or face) and having more space in front of that than behind... e.g. the 1st, 2nd and 3rd photos with more "space in front".. Hey, keep shooting, you're doing well!! (and I understand what you mean about your friend's photos of your) Cheers! Paul |
