Nice pic, what camera do you use ? I need to upgrade mine to take nice close shots.
Thinking about a dslr but they are expensive ! http://www.cjmx.co.uk |

Thank Maris,
These shots where taken using my D2H set up with the Sigma 50-500, seems a great combo for motocross. Take its easy Raff:-) |

Nice shot Raff!
Where was the event? I've never tryed shooting motox before but i feel like giving it a go. A friend of mine says the last one of the season is on the 17 Oct at Landrake(nr Plymouth). Got any tips? Think this date clashes with British surf champs too. |

The event was the British championship at Great Torrington Devon.
I spoke honestly with thetrack secretery and gained trackside access. I raced motocross myself so I have a good idea of where the peak action would be, generally whoops sections, long jumps, fast straights leading into tight corners and the final lap tend give great action pics. Hope this helps Raff |

This shot was taken using the50-500 at 50mm, 1-200th/f4, ISO 200, metering mode-centre weighted. I was probably 8/9ft from the subject.
You have to have lots of faith with the riders and sometimes position yourself in dangerous places, try not to break to riders view of what lies ahead on the track. Gonna post a couple of surfing pics, should be your cuppa tea. Take it easy Raff |
