We have this hill-climb competition once a year and people come from all over the state to be in it. I went up the the hill to get these shots this morning. had a lot of problems with contrast due to bright sunlight.

Nice ones Julie;)

As you might know, if you saw some of my previous posts, i love motorcycles.

I had my first bike at 10 and my last at 21. 6 different bikes during that time.

I miss that time, but next summer i might be riding again:-)

Thanks, my hubby loves bikes as well, he has not had one for years now and he misses the riding out in the fresh air.

In the states, our hillclimb involves monstrous hills/mountains, dirtbikes, extensions for the back wheels, three or more nasty jumps, sharp rocks and boulders to avoid, and a wicked return trail through the woods. Often, you jump over the last jump and have a look at certain death over the other side before you veer off to the side. Our whole family hillclimbs over here. We certainly have some characters that come out of the woodwork for our events, too, but they are all good people.

What you can't see in this pic is that you can't even stand on the hill in most places because it is practically straight up and down. What a rush!!!!

It is just interesting how many things we find out we have in common besides our photography.

PS...I love the sepia for that old guy! GREAT SHOTS!!!

what you call hill climb we call motor cross, we have the same thing all around the state with kids as young as five or four competing. What you see in my photos is the bottom of a hill in my country town used for a hill climb on bikes that works onthe ridergiving ina time thatthey believe it will take to get to the top (about 2ks). The speedometeris covered so you have to adjust your riding style to guess the speed. Some guys go up slow and some push the bikes as fast as they can. The rider who is the closest to his nominated time is the winner.

Our motocross goes in a circuit with series of whoops, tabletops, tight corners and generally goes through some nasty terrain.

Interesting!!! Thanks for sharing!
