I usually mingle with the club I'm with but I spent the entire day at Quarry corner taking as many photos as I could lol. I couldn't stop with the Mr. Whippy double ice creams!

hi shakie,
those look really good! when you say compressed for the site, are those shots straight out of the camera and you just resized them, or did you crop any? |

Sounds like a fun day out and you have a good panning technique there!
It looks to me as if nearly every shot is under exposed so I would check that out. The ones that don't are 3, 5, 6 and 7. Also I would frame tighter unless the background has some story to add to the shot. When it comes to framing I like 2 and 7. Where possible I always try to leave a little more space in front of the car than behind as it gives the car room to move into the space (in the minds eye). If you are really tight I don't worry about this but otherwise I do. Lastly this is personal taste and we all vary, have a look at shooting some with the camera angled. I usually have one or two positions on a track where I use this method to add some interest. TG if you are reading this I know you are not a fan :blah: |

Some very interesting and constructive critism, from both of you!
![]() ![]() Mark, I had already tried the angled shots. I quite liked them, actually: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As TG said, I'd say most of the shots are over-exposed (did you look at the main gallery?) I was forever trying to find a balance on the day for getting perfect motion blur without making the subject blurry as well, or making the shot too still! Hence more of the over-exposed shots. Interesting point about the space in front. I'll give that a try! This is perhaps more to TG's liking! ![]() ![]() |

When trying to get motion blur it should not be changing the exposure. Close the aperture down anddecreasethe ISO.
style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Good that you are trying different things and that is how we learn, there is no one on here who has it nailed (you need to go to other forums for that) but this is a good place to learn as we are all keen!! |

Mark you beat me to it I was thinking the same thing. Shoot in shutter priority and adjust your shutter speed here without affecting the exposure.

Yes I do like your front on tilted shots just not a huge fan of angled pans. |
