Hey Terry,

I have not seen this boat in person, but have been around water sports all my life so did some digging on this baby.

It is a Cigarette 38 Top Gun F2 used on the cover of powerboat mag (see below in Jan 2000). Not sure exactly what she is running, but believe in that class you will be looking at approx 2 x 800hp which should make it a lot of fun!!

Barracuda, the only thing I would change with this shot would be to leave some room in front of the boat for it to move into, apart from that it is tidy!

That shot is about a 90% crop. Don't want to get too close to the wake while trying to click away. Not sure what he's running for H.P., but it moves. Especially to the gas dock.

A little more info on it. Twin 500 cu in @ 470 HP ea.

That's not so much fun (being picky). A lot of F2's are running2x540's for the extra horses.

Correctamundo. This is one of the "not so fast" cigarrettes around here. It will still do 80.

Which is not to shabby!! What do you run (boat, engines etc). I only ever had smaller stuff. Fastest was a Phantom 16 with a Merc 150hp outboard. Good for just over 60 when propped for water skiing/all round fun..... never put a higher pitch on for top end.

My opinion is anything over 35 on the water is fast. 60 from 150 hp? Not too bad at all. I'm into comfort right now. 26 ft Crownline (air conditioned cabin) with Mercruiser 454 + Bravo 1 outdrive. Not terribly fast, but parties good dockside:lol:. Done the smaller route but got 2 footitis a couple times. Besides the cruiser, for excitement, we have a 170 hp seadoo GTX that will do 70. Hang on for that one:D
