I've been posting a few comments here on the forum so I thought I better subject one of my photos to general discussion.
I took this shot at a local fun run and it got printed on the front page of the sports section of my local town newspaper. The photos was pretty much uncorrected because I knew it would be printed in black and white 200 dpi. Shot with a Canon 20D and a Tamron 17-35 telephoto at 20mm. Shot shutter priority 1/500th at F6.3. I set ISO to 800 because it was a cloudy day (good old film technique). Personally I think this shot is a little overcropped, however the wide angle gives it an interesting effect. |

I like the perspective of the shot.
However, what hurts the shotis the runner isn't in good focus. |

John, I think your right.
I checked a DOF calculator and can't quite figure out how that happened. |
