I donīt think these pics are that bad considering your equipment. I think you did a good job with what you had.

i tried to use my fastest lens (50mm f1.8) but found myself not being able to get good framing of any action shots. probably my lack of experience. so i used my kit lens for the most part. oh well, its all a fun learning experience.

i think ya did pretty good too ronin for your first time ..i know i get frustrated with my camara too but its all about learning and thats why i dont post to many pic;s yet...lol but we'll get-r-done sooner or later...lol..

exif has been stripped from the photos so it's difficult to suggest settings you could have tried. If you could specify what your settings were for these photos (shutter, aperture, iso, focal length, focus mode, which focus points you used, flash settings, etc...) that would help.

It is not a bad set giving the equipment you had, and actually I think you did quite well with the lens and equipment you have

one thing i learned today playing with my camera and metz 48 flash is that i could have gotten higher speeds than 1/200 if i would have used HSS
IF i would have known that at the time of course ![]() maybe that would have helped me freeze the action better. oh well there is always the next time.
