December was really cold and snowy in our area, the lake froze about 6 or 7 inches and the ice fishermen and skaters were having a great time, January was mild and the ice melted. Normally we have several weeks of ice on the lake as our winter temps are anywhere from the single digits to the thirtys in the winter months. Summer is mostly in the 80's. My old bones prefer the 80's!

Thanks for the explanation and climate update, Bob! Though I DO have to admit you got my converting to degrees celcius in my mind... I'm a metric guy!

Well, it sounds like your temperatures are not too different to here in Romania. It's sometimes a bit up and down but summer and winter, not so predictable. But yes, in my terms: summer is nice if it's above 30 degrees celcius (about 85 F)... that's the Australian coming out in me.... not necessarily my age!
