Hi all.
In first place sorry for my poor english. After several hundreds photos of daylight girls field hockey, i am not happy with my sony a200 + sony 75-300 so i sell the camera and i am ready to buy a canon. my optios are: Used 40D body 9,000 pesos. New xsi kit 9,000 pesos. new t1i kit 11,000 pesos. Can you recomend the best option. Because budget my only choices off lenses are canon 55-250 or tamron 70-300 di, by experience i know the need off reach, but if the sharpness wide open full zoom of the canon is equal or beter than the tamron i can trade some reach for 55mm convenience. Thanks in advance. |

Well, I wouldn't bother with an xsi. Go with either the T1i or 40D. If you can handle both cameras, please do so. They definitely will have a different feel to them. Personally I like the frame rate of the 40d over the potential high iso performance of the t1i. BUT, I don't usually recommend buying a used camera. You just don't know how well it will last. So only buy the 40d if it comes with some type of warranty. If not then buy the t1i.
Now, the glass is really going to be a problem. The problem is neither lens you are considering are going to focus very fast. So in a way, you're wasting the benefits of Canon's focus system until you can afford a better lens. I'd be inclined to go with the Tamron out of the two because you'll need all the reach you can get. But that's like saying "which of these two 'D' students is better". |
