Had a number of requests for more pics of stacking. This was taken w/ a 10D, Sigma 120-300 f/2.8, and stacked 1.4 and 2.0x Sigma TCs. 1x sharpen in PS w/ a slight crop, that's it.

It was fun to shoot these. My focus point was the very top of the hill. That first picture is just a little soft. If you look, he's just a little past the crest of the hill. Considering the speed of these things, even head on, it wasn't easy to get a shot that was nice and crisp. The stacking kind of compunds thesharpnessissue as well. Already looking forward to next year.

The 120-300 f/2.8 becomes an 840mm f/8 or so. For me it works. Am I going to get nice sharp, crisp pictures. Nope. But, it's going to get me shots I never would have gotten in the first place. Some of them are pretty sharp, but most of them need a little PS sharpening. I'm quite content doing that.

It looks like this lens is a keeper:
1. No one makes a 120-300 f/2.8 zoom 2. The EF 300 f/2.8 L is slighly better, but then it costs slighly more 3. ... the Sigma 100-300mm F4 EX IF HSM is also slighly better, but it costs a lot less :-):-):-) |

I'm not sure if you can stack 2 - 2x's together. One of the elements might stick out too much. Something to check on. With your 200, you'd be at 800mm and about f/11-12.
