Hi TDGM1,
Is this the first time you've shot swimming as I can't remember any from you in the past? Good timing here to get these captures and number 2 is my fave with facial expression, I have yet to shoot swimming so one day I hope to have a chance. A couple of things thatI think will help you out next time. 1 Get lower as you seem to be standing or in the stands so shooting down too much (for me taste at least) 2 Get the aperture open, for some reason you were at f11 which is not letting enough light in, go for whatever the widest is for you lens (what lens did you shoot with??) as that will really make a difference. 3 Zoom injust a small amount more to get rid of some of the dead water. If you get a chance check out some of the other posters swim shots (spy has done some great ones) as I think this will really inspire you and allow you to get even better captures. Looking forward to seeing more Mark |

I'm with Mark. Your timing is good, but you need to open up the aperture a bit. These are a bit dim and having a wider aperture will help greatly with that rather than relying on flash to illuminate the subject so much. Also, WB looks off to me - too cold. So, from a shooting perspective I think you did good. There are just some technical things you need to clean up.
Nice job! |

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions will utilize them on my next shoot. Just to let you know it was late in afternoon and overcast Went back and checked camera WB was set to flash and when I PP at home with your comment big improvement noted in picture. I take breaks in my picture taking and then forget to check all settings the next time I take photos Hey just an amateur having lots of fun
