It's been a while since posting here last, but again, Mark muscled me over from landscapes to post some sports.
This shot was taken last weekend in Edmonton, Alberta during a 4 day long swim meet. The best of the best in Alberta competing for better titles and times. I only have the one for now but I was impressed with it so I'll share it. 20d, 70 - 200 2.8, Non IS, ISO 1600 |

Works for me Kevin, great colour and cool angle. Not seen any swimming for a while from you so good to have you around here again.
Are you laying down to get these, I've never shot swimming but it always intrigues me. |

No, I haven't been around in these here parts cause I'm hang'n over at landscapes but I'll have to post over here maybe a little more.
I am laying down.....on the wet floor......getting VERY wet......and when the swimmer does the touch and turn thang, I get even more wet but I sit up quickly and turn so the camera is protected but that is when my back gets a good dose of splash. There is no room behind me as there is a baracade keeping everyone standing around out off the deck so I take what I can get and if it means getting totally soaked, then so be it. It's all good. In swimming the photographer really needs to get as low as possible to get these shots. Becoming very wet takes some mental preparation but in the long run you do dry off but the photos last forever.
