Great stuff. I also have to say the Eagle is my favorite - not just the afterburners but the angle as well.

Not planning to anytime soon, but perhaps you could share some tips for airshows. What suggestions for metering? Positioning? Basically anything that you think might be helpful to someone who is new to photographing airshows. |

Hope this isnt to late , i havent been back here in a few weeks. I used partial metering on camera (canon 1DMK2, lens sigma 50-500) if your shooting prop planes use a tripod and keep shutter speed at about 1/320 or slower range so the props are blurred, faster shutter spped freeze the prop and it doesnt look as good.
Jets use as fast a shutter speed as you can get. I use about plus 2/3 exposure comp as it will tend to under expose when shooting planes up in the air. If the plane is close to ground like landing or take off no exposure comp is needed. Use continuous focusing (servo mode on canon), hope that helps 1/320 a sec on this decent prop blur ![]() |
