Lousy night for soccer. Considering the conditions, I thought these were pretty decent for a Fuji s6000. Both were shot at ISO 3200.

not too bad, i have been trying to work with night shots, but right now i have kind of backed off, because no matter how hard i try, i don't get many worth keeping. i am saving to get the 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 i really want to get better for low light situations!

You're saving for a lens; I'm just wanting to be able to move to a DSLR, lol. Actually, I'm quite pleased with the quality of what we get with the Fuji, although it'll never equal a DSLR.
Soccer is a hard sport to shoot because of the speed and distances involved. When you add the difficulty of poor lights at most fields, you find yourself pleased with getting good action and faces. However, our keep rate is always low. We just keep shooting huge numbers, often shooting more than 500 to get 25 keepers. When we can keep the ISO to 1600, we generally get far better shots because of the lower inherent noise. |

Wow trojan, you def had the field stacked against you! Under the incredibly difficult circumstances and the equipment used...not bad at all. I mean from a technical point ofview, yes there are manyissues with the shots but from a realistic point of view youve captured some nice memories.
