Default Wheelie Weekend

Attended a wheelie competition. These guys ride a full kilometre on the back wheel only, fasted speed at the finish of the kilo wins. Record is currently 217mph / 351kph.

Tried a few different shutter speeds, mostly played safe at speeds of 1/500s. Nearing the end of the weekend I had sufficiŽnt good shots to go a bit more risky and slowed down to 1/80s. This bumped the aperture above f8 meaning no phase detect af on the used camera. Fortunately the contrast detect did a good job as well. Also it proved possible to get a few good frames out of the bursts so lesson learned is to alway go slow shutter and get the more dynamic results. Panning was a tough one so allowed ample room for cropping / framing. On average cropped to about 65-70%. Last photo is the winner of this years event at 210mph / 338kph.
