Who needs the latest 36 MP, 25 frames per sec, NASA powered focus mechanismed camera...All it takes is luck. I always get excited downloading newly shot pics, waiting with great anticipation as each picture comes on the screen. This one had me jumping on the desk, acting like a fool andhootin and hollerin! LOL

I'd be hootin' 'n' hollerin' too!

Look at the ball!!!

Great capture!

Please tell us he didn't just fly out!

Nothing beats luck. But what works best is when you make your own luck.

I agree - great timing!

Id suggest cropping down up to both feet to get rid of some of the dead space at the top of the frame. Other than that, this is a fantastic capture!

Well done.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Actually, I cant recall this shot at all! When I looked at the screen I didnt see the ball anywhere in front or behind him so I didnt pay any attention to it... At one point I started deleting shots where the ball wasnt plainly visible. Im glad I didnt delete this one. After that capture I made myself swearI wouldnt delete ANY shots until I got home. TC your comment reminds me of a poster my high school football coach had on the wall. Luck is 90% preparation. I dont know about the 90% but I do know that I spend an awful lotof time trying to time each hitter-"wasting" 100s of shots per outing. Although Id like to argue against the "waste" part.

Beautiful shot!!!!!!!! I know exactly what you mean about wasting shots just trying to get the exact moment. You cant get any better than that. You need to make sure his parents see this one, and they BETTER buy it!!!

What came to mind for me was the"Bull Durham" when you said that you almost thought of deleting the image. Costner sits on the back of the bus explaining to the rookies about the big leagues, and how even the batting practice balls are white. That wouldhave made it easierfor you to see it.

Great job! You never know, this kid may be playing somewhere someday.

Jeff, thank you for the compliments, theyre truly appreciated. And thanks for the Bull Durham memory, which happens to be a classic movie in my book! As far as this young man is concerned, his mom and dad may be happy but he may have some explaining to do as to why his eyesare not on the ball LOL.
