here are some pics of him riding his dirt bike for the discovery channel.

the last pic he lost it in the whoops(small jumps back to back) and fell

and broke his collar bone. he is ok, he finished shooting the episode the next

day. no he didn't ride again. just some indoor stuff at the local college.

John, very cool that your son is going to be on TV, when is it going out and what will it be called?

You are getting better at this sports shooting lark , if you have not done so I would use some unsharp mask to give them more punch.

It's a shame that in the last shot the camera focused on the trees and not your son..... bigger shame that he injured himself.... hope he gets better soon.

John - love the first shot. Only suggestion is to pull in the left slider on the histogram and darken the blacks a little.

well i have been working it, and i understand it, now i just need to dial it in a little better. example in the shot where he is jumping and the people are in front of him. i should have used auto focus but i used the continuous auto focus. i focused on the dirt where i thought he would be in that position, but as you can see it focused on the people instead. a few of the other shots were me moving so that is why they are blurred, i now understand the difference. oh and ryan is doing fine, he rides his bicycle every evening! thanks for the concern.

hi johng, the reason the camera focused on the trees was i used sports mode, which i really shouldn't use at all, because this happens everytime, but i did because he was blowing by so fast, and i wanted to get a couple of sequence shots. as i was watching him ride i was thinking who is this kid, he was doing some stuff that i was amazed at. i guess if you put him in front of a camera he goes crazy!! and thank both of you for your help. and i did order the zuiko 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 so i am really excited about that! it should be here tuesday!

Nice shots man. Your boy is going to be a star, woo hooo!!My only regret is that he didnt use proper riding gear...thats going to catch some flack! Let us know about the airing. Id love to check it out.
