Went to ball game. My friend's 10 year old son was playing in the championship game.

Their team lost, but mom appreciated the photo shown here.

I love the expression on the boy's face as he swings.

Please comment. :)

Faithfully yours,

FP, I dropped this in the sports section so those with a background in sports will get to take a look and give you some tips for the next time out :)

I think it turned out rather well. Framing is good, face is reasonably sharp and has a good expression. Background is nicely blurred. The one knock is that the ball isn't in the frame. If you do take more baseball photos work on your timing to get the ball in the frame. I'm sure the mom was very happy

Hey Mark1616: Thanks for moving the photo. It's good to know you've always got my back.

JohnG, thanks for the advice. If hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports, then shooting the shot where the ball hits the bat must be the second! My subject struck out twice and only got one hit.

Regardless.. I appreciate the advice, as always!!

nice capture! youll nail ball on bat sooner or later-i really liked this shot but framed to tight and missed the ball on the bat-keep shooting !

you don't have to nail ball on bat - just get ball in the frame. In all honesty, I wouldn't sweat it too much - it's a cool exercise to try and get ball near bat, but in the end the better photos are in the field. Batting photos are like free throws in basketball or serves in volleyball. If you really want interesting photos try to capture action in the field.
