Youngest participated in a 3 on 3 tourney recently. Still trying to get better at action shots. Used the Nikon D50.

Actually, those are pretty darn good. You did a nice job of blurring the background in post processing - tough for something like this to get an acceptable background - you'd almost need a 2.0 lens with how close everything is and given the fact you couldn't back up enough to use a long zoom to help the blur.

But the color is good and sharpness is there. Oveall, very nice job!!

Great Photo's

What were your steps to make the last photo color and black/white?

I have been looking to find out how to do that.

Thanks again John for the encouragement and compliments !

RP33 - Thanks !

I use PSE 3 for post processing. I duplicate the layer and then create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Take the saturation slider to the left until you have a black and white copy. Then paint over any area that you want in color (make sure color swatch is black). If you make any mistakes or "paint" in where you didn't want - change color swatch to white and "paint" back over colored areas and it will revert back to b/w. Hope this helps - if you need more infor or detail - just let me know.

Thanks Again !
