I'm not sure the images on test are a sharp as one might expect- maybe the lens used is not showing the camera in its best light...?

Excellent review of what is obviously a very high quality camera.

I own a K-3 and I would say the images on the review page are not nearly as sharp as the images "I get". I think its the lens. I had a Tamron 24-75mm lens in the past and it was not sharp on the camera. For the K-3 and another friend that also has this camera agrees with me you need to have good glass for this camera to get the best results and sharp images. I shoot with a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 and Sigma 18-250mm for 92% of my shooting. Also using a Sandisk 90mb/s memory card ISO 100 - 3200 I can get 6fp/s bursts if the focus is locked on in the first frame. If the focis for some reason hunts I get more like 4fps but 85% or more of the time I can easily get 6fps. Granted if I use a 30mb/s card I get roughly 4 to 4.5 fps.

Nice to get an opinion from a user of the said camera- what's the AF speed like on the 17-70...?

The AF speed on the 17-70mm is the fastest lens I have ever used on the camera in terms of focus. I get the fastest burst rates using it of the 5 lenses I have used on the camera (Tamron 24-75mm f/2.8, the sigma, Sigma 18-250mm, Tamron 70-200 and Pentax 50mm f/1.4). Its fast, accurate and sharp! It sees as f this lens was made for the Pentax camera.

Thanks for the solid review. There's no doubt that the K-3 is a great camera. But I hesitate to pull the trigger on one. I don't know that I need or want 24mp files. I honestly believe that 16mp is still the sweet spot on APS-C. The K-3's autofocus is certainly better than AF on my K-5. But, right now, I'm tempted to buy a leftover K-5IIs.
