Hot Shoe to PC Adapter for Kodak P850?

I am trying to find an adapter to use a PC sync cord on my Kocak P850 and recently purchased a generic adapter. But it doesn't trigger the flash.

Is the flash triggered from the common(base) contact and the center contact, like I would have thought? Do I need something with different contacts?
