Hi,

I just ordered my first DSLR and wondered if anyone could recommend a good book to learn/understand portrait lighting or lighting in general?

Thanks

Since I recently purchased a 3 strobe lighting setup (From eBay), I've been interested in books, as well.

For general purposes, I recommend: Digital portrait photography and lighting: Take memorable shots every time by Catherine Jamieson and Sean mcCormick. Very good explanation of all the basics of lighting I needed.

Another book I can recommend is: Successful glamour photography: A guide to professional techniques for film and digital photography by Duncan Evans and John Kelly. Make sure you get the latest printing of this book, otherwise you'll see pics taken from the 80's.

And, finally, if you're interested in taking sexy pics of the wife, girl friend, or whomever, I highly recommend Garage Glamour, by Rolando Gomez. Very helpful hints.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask again.
