A very late reply as I don't often look at this section. I use the sekonic L-308S which gives everything I need.

I 'm looking for light meter and looked in the referances of this Seconic L-308s.

With which camera do you use it.

I have Canon 350d.

I see that in specification says 1/500s. Is it just a max shutter speed or desirable, can I use a slower since my camera have only up to 1/200s max.

Can I measure day light and flash(studio light ) too....

regards

The Sekonic L308s specs include:
  • Shutter Speed - Ambient: 60 sec. ~ 1/8000 sec [/*]
  • Shutter Speed - Flash: 1 sec. ~ 1/500 sec [/*]
This should be more than ample for you and your camera. There are VERY few times you'd want (or be able) to use a shutter speed above 1/500th s with flash.
