ok i dont have a question about how to make thebackdrops Ive found info on that. The question I have before i waste my time is.... why is muslin usedto dye or paint for backdrops when at a fabric store , walmart, or etc have all types of similar fabric for possibly cheaperand it already has a print on it. i appreciate everyone's help and info.

Good question. Unless you just love the texture of a flour sack with wrinkles in it, I don't see the point. They've been done to death and I prefer to either blur my backgrounds, or us them as lighting enhancers. I like the 200wt polartec cloth that you can get at Wally World ot Hobby Lobby...both are around $20.00US for a 3x12 sheet. They don't wrinkle, keep models warm & can be used as changing tents in a pinch!
