I am looking for a portable studio kit (for a beginer). I have a canon 400D but thats it !!! i am not too fussed about a backdrop at the minute and i dont have an external flash. I have been recommended the Kenro kit110WS
Comprises: 2x 110WS/150WS Heads (SSK2110BF and SSK2150BF), 2x L2440 stands, 45x45cm softbox, set of colour filters, mains cables, synch cable and modelling lamps. Technical Specifications for Lighting Heads: -Stepless power 1/16th, full power. -Fan cooling. -Audible flash ready signal. -60W Modelling Lamp. -Re-cycle time 5-3 secs. -Flash duration 1/500th-1/800th Sec. - Built in IR auto flash trigger. -Flash operated by means of a test button, IR inbuilt trigger or synch cable (included). -Colour temperature 5600-5800K. -Weight 72Kgs(110) 76Kgs(150). -Each Head includes 2 modelling lamps, power cord and camera synch cable. -Output 110WS (ISO guide No.28 - Meters) and 150WS (ISO guide No.32 - Meters).

I have since bought one ! but now i need a light meter and a flash transmitter..its just for taking portraits in the home...any advice on a light meter ?
