Hi,

I'm looking to buy a lightmeter. I use an EOS 40D & EOS 5D with strobes as well as a 580Exii speedlight.

I have been looking at specs for all different light meters, and have come across the Sekonic Dualmaster L-758D. It seems to be perfect for digital, as it can be custom calibrated to match the camera's ISO sensitivities. But is this so important? Will a cheaper meter suffice?

thanks for your advice in advance,
Gerry

Make sure you get a "FLASH METER" a plain light meter will not read flash so in my opinion they are not very usefull.

Thanks for the tip Ronnie,

I purchased a Sekonic L-758D and it works great. Im very happy with it! I think Im going to get very attached to it, my photos since have improved immensely in terms of correct colours and exposures. I'd recommend a light meter to anyone.
