Default AlienBees vs ??

I really like the Look and feel of the ABs.
What are some quality products which rival the AlienBees for Value.?
I shoot primarily team shoots Soccer, Basketball,Wrestling and Band, be it rainy under cover or in the beauty of the sun, or in a Gym, I have no issues with my speed-lites in the sun for fill in.
Its a quality portable set up I aspire to.

Any experiences or recommendations?

Hey LeroyNeal and welcome to Steve's. Sorry no one has given you any feedback yet - I just noticed this thread myself. I purchased two sets of Alien Bees 800s (light, stand, umbrella, bag) back in November. Before that and still now my only other lighting has been a 430 EXII so I really have nothing to compare for you.

I will say that I am very happy with the Bees but I've only used them about four times. Last weekend was a first for me. I took the stands, umbrellas, and lights down from the basement, packed them up and took them to school for a photo shoot. It was easier to pack, setup, and take down again than I expected. Also the lights worked very well especially considering my lack of experience.

Good luck to you.
Andy
