Hello, I'm looking for a portable, easy to use, remote flash(es) for my Canon 10D and 20D for use at weddings. As we all know churches are dark, and my Speedlite 550 just doesn't cut it sometimes.Inconsistent results. Looking for one maybe two units with umbrellas that I can control remotely from the camera.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

For professional use
  1. Lumedyne: http://www.lumedyne.com/index2.html[/*]
  2. Quantum: http://www.qtm.com/flash/qfx2.html
  3. Norman: http://www.photo-control.com/norman/bpsystems.htm[/*]
triggered with pocketwizards: http://www.pocketwizard.com/HTML/products.asp

Also a pack of 3-4 Canon EX580's or Sigma 500DG supers, will work wirlessly through ettl-ii. but that is line of sight and not really for pro usage.

Alienbees are very nice, compact and strong. They have an optional portable power supply and a wirless triggering system that also allows you control the settings on each light. Very professional results and quality at a price that won't break you.

Check the specs and reviews on these before you get anything else. Look for features like modeling lamps larger than 60watts, fan cooled, fast recycle time and short flash duration, which ABs have good marks on all. They also give a 6 month money back guarantee. I have had mine for over 6 months now after using other models like smith victor (photogenic) and other known brands and have not looked back. You can't match the feature, quality and power to price ratio.
