I'm new to lighting so I have a question. I recently bought my wife a set of 2 monolights with umbrellas. I want to use one of the monolights as the key and the other as the back light. We have a Digital Rebel with a 550ex Flashand was wondering if I could use the flash mounted in the hot shoe and rotate it about 45 degrees and bounce it off of a reflector and onto the subject to get the fill flash. I plan on getting a 3rd monolight (maybe more) but for now would that work?

Thanks

That should work as long as the on-camera flash is about 1-2 stops under your main light. I was actually going to do something similar (using a Vivitar 285HV & a Lumiquest Pocket Bounce to trigger my main light).

Thanks for the response. It's sad, I bought this flash with me Elan II in 1999 or 2000 and I am just now figuring out how it works.
