I have an opportunity to shoot at the Superpipe contest at Whistler this weekend. I wanted some advice since I'm very much an amateur just starting to shoot in manual mode. Camera is a Canon digital Rebel XT with 18-70mm lens and a 90-300mm lens f4-5.6.

what should my settings start at?
Which lens should I use?
Are they any particular angles or shots I should be aiming for?
Shoot in manual or automatic focus?

Of course, any other advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

If you can, go on the halfpipe, on the lip, and take a fisheye for your shots !!

It should look like this!!
