Iam looking for a software or digital camera or both by which we can see the images on the pc monitor while we shoot. My intention is to use it for taking ID pictures . So that while I shoot and also after shooting, the customer can see the picture on the PC monitor and select the best shots.Swapping the memory cards from camera to PC is not suitable because it spoils the contact if you use it continously.I want the camera to be mounted on a movable stand and PC connected to it. So that while shooting we can see on monitor and also after shooting and then if customer like print can be made.

Most all of the Canon Powershot cameras can be operated while tethered to a PC via the USB port. They come with RemoteCapture software that lets you control the camera from the PC with a live video preview window and the ability to set most major camera settings.

Many cameras have a live video output that you could view on a monitor (VCR/TV).
Another way to speed up the workflow in your situation is via the Harbortronics DigiSnap 2000 / SnapUSB. This combo provides electronic switching of the camera between the DigiSnap (remote controller) and a USB port for image download. You don't have to fiddle with cables or shuttling a CF card. These devices work well with the Coolpix cameras, and might work with some others (i.e. Olympus) as well. |
