Full Range Macro with Fuji A101/A201 and 1300/2300
For those of you with these cameras, please ignore both Fujifilm and several reviewers who have negatively stated that there is a gap between the Macro range and the Normal range. This is not so. By adjusting the Macro slider to two different points within it's track you can have full range from 3 inches to infinity.
To get shots from 6-9 inches or so, set the slider half-way. To get shots from 9 inches to about 2.5 feet set it between half-way and infinity. You may have to take some practice shots to determine EXACTLY where those points are for your unit. The flash throttles a bit too much for the official macro range, but works great beyond 6 inches.
I sewed a couple of white threads across my handstrap at the 3.1 and 5.9 inch marks, so I know where the two shorter macro distances start without carrying a tape measure. The farthest one you can just estimate.
