:idea:Another technique for getting this soft black and white is to shoot in infrared. The natural heat of the skin causes small wrinkles and defects to disappear. Studio photographers creating headshots for actors and actresses have been using b&w infrared film for decades.

With a Sony digicam, shoot in infrared and convert the green and white image to a black and white one.
