I made a macro lens for my digicam with a cheap plastic magnifying glass, some cardboard and tape. It works great! here is a pic example.

You've got to get a new keyboard. Nice photo, I'm going to try it myself.

What was the cardboard construction? Could you be so kind to place a picture of your photo filter here?
Seems that most crucial part is the larger the magnification the more steady the filter should during the photo (duh, what's new) Microscopic view of fungi was taken with Canon Ixus 1 on a tripod and a plastic toy microscope (even looking at it shakes the image) . Next I tried with same camera in low light condition and handheld with left normal macro setting and right a good 8x lens ![]() Using camera on delayed timer would have helped. |

The photos of ncprevost encouraged me to tp take my macro lens experiment a step further.
I came up with next reusable construction; ![]() The macrolens adapter is made for a Canon Ixus/ Elph (first version) Photo's are made with Canon Ixus/Elph (first version). No zoom, or flash is used. Only a small area is sharp; 1:1 crop of 2' photo; ![]() Note this camera has no apperture options. Resized full photo ![]() Scene without 'macro lens'. ![]() Pincussion is acceptable with this lens, but the color abriviation is horrible. |
