Default printer settings

any tips or tricks to getting better picts with your printer.? I have an HP 5550. Some has told me that there are settings that will improve your print quality such as having the print cartridge only print a line once or repetitively, i am not sure. Also setting of pict. resolution. any ideas or knowlege is welcom. :?:

Set to the highest resolution for pics

There maybe a setting specifically for digi photos, if so use that.

Make sure you use good photo glossy paper. You cannot get good photos from normal paper.
