here may be my million dollar idea ( maybe not, but a good question anyway): does anyone know if there is a remote lcd screen i can buy (maybe the size of the digital video ones, 3"X4") that i can hook up to my video out on my olympus c3000? I have found a million applications for something like that.

Check the electronic places that sell the mobile LCD screens for cars, vans and etc. Many of these can be run on internal batteries as well as 12vdc from the car. Also check places that sell video camcorders, there used to be several add-on color LCD monitors sold for use with video cameras. I've seen them in 4" and 5" sizes and larger but the bigger ones are priced kind of high.
Here's a couple of them: http://www.espymall.com/porlcdmon.html -Steve |

Checkout portable TV's with lcd's and A/V input. I know Citizen make one, not sure about Casio. Watch the footie, when your not shooting digi pics! These usually only have a 2.5 to 3" screen, but are designed to be portable and most run off AA's. Would't colour balance off one though.

Check Ebay. They have some 5" ones for about $150US.
Good for Digiscoping. |

Last year I bought an RCA 4" color tv/monitor from RS at a closeout, $100, works great as a monitor.
It has video and audio inputs and runs off of four "D" cells. It is not much bigger than most SLR's. ![]() |

I've used a Casio portable TV with A/V inputs for monitoring while video recording and it worked very well. When I get my digicam (Oly c-700) over the weekend I should try it there too. This is also a good way to take strain off a camera's batteries from the LCD, yet still have one.... yes very good idea
