I have a Sony Digital Video Camera and a Sony cyber Shot. In the past I have downloaded my MemorySticks to video tape from the Cyber Shot by using my Video camera for storage and then retrieving them back to my memory sticks to transfer to my computer when I return (I am a travel writer/photographer and hate carrying around my note book unless necessary).
I have noted only minor loss of quality... I am wondering if/when I buy the Sony DSC F717 and use it at its highest resolution, if I will be able to do the same. I can not afford to carry around dozens of Memory Sticks... Will there be a loss of quality...??? |

An alternative:
Get an X-drive or similar portable storage device. Mine holds 20 gigs-the equivalent of 160 memory sticks! It' only about the size of a 4X6 print, 3/4 of an inch deep. Rather than passing back and forth, it plugs into your USB port and acts as another hard drive. Glenn  |
