Headed to Colorado for the weekend. The weather is suppose to be sunny.

I need some tips on shooting snowboarding ..... what settings, etc?

I have a Canon digital Rebel XT with the stock lense and a 70-300 F4-5.6 zoom.

I want to try and get some shots of the halfpipe too. Please give any tips on getting some good air shots.

Thanks.

Something fast (something along the lines of 1/500+) should make the shots pretty nice (and crisp if you're handholding at the longer zooms), and since it will be sunny (and reflective off the snow) there should be enough light. The only other thing I really know about it is that you'll probably have to adjust your white bal, auto generally makes snow a little bluish for my taste (not sure about on the Rebel XT).

Yah, definitely 1/500th or even try 1/1000th, shooting shutter speed priority.
