USB control of Nikon d500
Hi. Been here before, same idea, but new try, with other gear:
I bought a Nicon Coolpix d500 (cheap). I know it is possible to remote control it via USB. I have a cable, but no software for it. I would like to make time compression movies of e.g. clouds, so I would like to hook the camera to a laptop, have it make shots at an interval, save each shot to the HD (since you can't get very big memeory sticks for this old camera), and later turn them into a movie. The last part is rather easy, but I can't find good info of how to hook up USB control. Can anybody here help? Thanks, Hans |

Have you looked at Nikon's website for remote control software for the camera? If they don't have it, it is unlikely anyone does.

I have, but it is rather unclear. I have seen it used for a later model.
I guess I'll just get a modern HD webcam, and use the Nikon as paperweight, ;). Hans |
