Default Tips on shooting Lightning needed

I'm using an Olympus D-560Z...limited manual settings available. Is it still possible? Maybe with the "night shot" setting?

Hi,

Just set the exposure for night shot or a few seconds opening eventually maybe force it with a ISO 100 setting and a very small apperture (22 for example).

Just aim at the sky and shoot, when the lightning appears hold your hand for the lens to let in no more light.

Greetings,
Frank

Frank,

For the P/S digicam, I don't think they can set the apterure smaller than F/8. I would set the camera on tripod using aperture priority mode with F/8, F/6.7 and F/5.6 and shoot with timer mode or wireless remote mode. Your camera will do well with one of these aperture, visual check and choose your favorite one. If you include people or subject in the picture, use the same mode with fill in flash, ask your subject to stand or sit steady within the flash range for at least during the exposure, may take from 2, 3 to 15 seconds.

Cheers
