My first posting!!! Trying to get the hang of this. Had my camera in its case in my back pack. A dr. pepper top came off and filled the case. The camera will still take pics with the evf but the LCD screen will not work. Is there any thing I can do????? I had the camera two weeks!!! help !!

What a bummer! You have two problems. The first is moisture and there's a chance that when the camera completely dries out all will be well, but your second problem is that the type of moisture that hit your camera was a sugar-filled soft drink, which makes it less likely you'll ever recover complete functionality.

Years ago I was taking pictures at a company party, and spilled champagne on my SLR. The next morning, the camera had a worse hangover than I did! I took it to a repair shop and had it professionally cleaned, and all was well. At the time, the cost to fix it was much much less than the cost to replace it.

OH-Oh, The Pepsi Syndrome! Or Dr. Pepper, in this case. Other than total disassembly and professional cleaning, there is not too much that will help. A possibility only would be to take the camera to a jeweler who has an ultrasonic cleaner and see if he will give it a try.

Bet you won't do that again.
